Japanese Buddhism

Japanese Buddhism is a kind of Buddhism that is common in Japan. Buddhism is a religion that started in India around the 5th century BC. It teaches that life is filled with suffering, but if you follow Buddhist teachings and practice meditation and compassion, you can find peace and inner happiness. In Japan, different branches of Buddhism have been combined and adapted, so Japanese Buddhism includes ideas from other Asian traditions. Japanese Buddhism includes temples and shrines where people can go to meditate and practice the teachings of the Buddha. People can also give offerings at these temples, such as food or money, to help the temple and show respect for the teachings.
