ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Labor union

A labor union is a group of workers that work together to protect each other's rights. When workers join a union, they all agree to work together to make sure they are treated fairly, get reasonable pay and benefits, and have safe working conditions. Unions also work to improve wages, hours, and working conditions in their industries. They do this by negotiating contracts with employers, organizing rallies and strikes, and engaging in political action.
