Labor unions in the United States

Labor unions are like clubs for workers. They are made up of people who all do the same or similar kind of work in a certain place or industry. They work together to help each other get better wages and better working conditions. They talk to the employers or company owners and try to get agreements that will be better for the workers. The agreements are like a contract and they have things like wages and hours, holidays, workplace safety and other things that everyone has to follow. When everyone follows the agreement it helps everyone.
