Lagoon

A lagoon is like a big pool of water that's usually surrounded by land or rocks. It's not like a normal pool you can swim in, because the water in a lagoon is usually salty, like the ocean. Lagoons are found near the ocean or in places where rivers or streams meet the ocean. They are also home to many different kinds of plants and animals like fish, clams, and crabs. People sometimes like to go to lagoons to see all the pretty plants and creatures and to go swimming or snorkeling.
