Lamia

Lamia is a creature from ancient Greek mythology who is said to be half-woman and half-serpent. This means that she has a human upper body, like arms, a head, and a torso, but her lower body is like that of a snake, with scales and a tail.

Lamia is usually depicted as a beautiful woman who could seduce and lure men into her traps, but once they are caught, she would devour them or drink their blood. This is why many people considered her to be a dangerous monster.

According to legend, Lamia was originally a queen who fell in love with the god Zeus. However, Zeus' jealous wife Hera discovered their affair and killed Lamia's children. This made Lamia so heartbroken that she turned into a monster and sought to avenge her children's deaths by hunting down and devouring other people's children.

In later myths, Lamia became associated with witchcraft and black magic, as well as the undead. Some people believe that if a Lamia manages to bite a person, that person will become a Lamia themselves, forced to live forever as half-woman, half-serpent.

Overall, Lamia is a fascinating and terrifying creature from ancient Greek mythology that continues to captivate people's imaginations today.
