ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Land grabbing

Land grabbing is when a rich or powerful person or company takes possession of a piece of land that doesn’t belong to them. This could mean they take control of the land or use it without asking permission from the people who live there or from the government that owns the land. They may also take it away from the people who were using it before. It’s like taking away a toy from your friend and not letting anyone else play with it. Sometimes land grabbing is done with the intention of making money from the land, by building something like a factory or houses. Other times, it's done so that the person or company can get access to valuable natural resources like oil or gold. Land grabbing is not a nice thing to do and it can have negative consequences for people who live on the land and for the environment.
