Linguistics

Linguistics is the study of language. It is used to understand how language works and how it is used by people. Linguists look at the different ways people use language and how people use language to communicate with each other. They also try to figure out how language changes over time. By understanding how language works, linguists can make sure that new words and phrases can be understood by everyone.
