ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Liquid democracy

Liquid democracy is a type of decision-making system where people can assign someone they trust to represent their opinion on a certain issue instead of voting directly. It is like a mix of direct democracy, which only allows people to vote on an issue directly, and representative democracy, where people elect representatives who decide on the issue for them. In liquid democracy, people can 'delegate' their vote to someone and that person can decide how to vote on their behalf. If the person they delegated their vote to changes their mind, the person who delegated can take back the vote and decide how to vote themselves. Liquid democracy is supposed to help people make sure their opinions are heard and represented, no matter what their views are.
