ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Lumbar

The lumbar is the part of your back that starts right below your ribcage and goes down to your butt. It's made up of five really big bones that help you stand up straight and do all sorts of fun things like running, jumping, and playing.

Think of your spine (the long line of bones in your back) like a tower of building blocks. The lumbar is the biggest and strongest block at the bottom of the tower, and it holds up the rest of the blocks above it.

Sometimes people have problems with their lumbar, which can cause them to feel pain or discomfort in their back or legs. If you're feeling this way, it's important to talk to an adult (like a doctor) who can help you figure out what's going on and how to feel better!
