Lusitanian language

Okay kiddo, have you ever heard of Portugal? It's a pretty cool country with lots of beaches, castles, and yummy food. The people who live in Portugal speak a special language called Lusitanian.

Lusitanian is actually a really old language that was spoken thousands of years ago by the Lusitanians, who were an ancient tribe that lived in what is now Portugal. It's kind of like how dinosaurs used to roam the Earth but now they don't - Lusitanian used to be spoken but now it's not really used anymore.

But don't worry, we still know a little bit about the Lusitanian language. Archaeologists have found some inscriptions (which are kind of like messages carved into stone) in Lusitanian, and there are some really smart people who are studying them to try and understand the language better.

We do know that Lusitanian was related to other ancient languages that were spoken in Spain and France, and it probably sounded a lot like those languages. It might have sounded a bit like Portuguese or Spanish (which are two languages that people speak in Portugal today).

So even though we don't speak Lusitanian anymore, it's still really interesting to learn about because it tells us more about the history of Portugal and the people who lived there thousands of years ago.
