Manchu people

Okay kiddo, today we're going to learn about the Manchu people!

The Manchu people are a group of people who come from a place called Manchuria, which is in northeastern China. They have their own language and culture that is different from other groups of people in China.

A long time ago, the Manchu people were really powerful and ruled over China as the Qing dynasty. They had a special hairstyle, where they shaved the front of their heads but left the back really long and braided it into a long ponytail.

But then, other groups of people in China didn't like the Manchu rulers and they started to rebel against them. Eventually, the Qing dynasty fell and the Manchu people lost their power.

Nowadays, there are still Manchu people living in China, but they are a smaller group of people and their culture is not as powerful as it used to be. But they still have their own traditions and language that they are proud of!
