Mechado

Okay kiddo, let me tell you all about Mechado which is a type of Filipino beef stew. It's like a big soup that has lots of yummy things in it.

First, we cook some beef meat, like chunks or slices. We cut onions, garlic, and tomatoes and add them to the pot with the beef. Then we pour some yummy sauce made of soy sauce, tomato sauce, and sometimes sugar or lemon juice over the beef and veggies. It gives it all the flavor.

Then we let everything cook together for a long time, sometimes for hours, until the beef is super tender and the flavors have mixed together really well.

After it's cooked, we serve it with a steaming bowl of white rice. You can use a spoon to scoop up some of the beef and veggies and eat it with the rice.
