ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Media hype

Okay kiddo, let me explain what media hype means. You know how sometimes the news or TV shows talk a lot about something that's happening or someone who did something? Well, sometimes they talk about it so much that it gets people really excited or interested, even if it's not all that important. That's called media hype.

It's kind of like when you get really excited about a new toy or game because all your friends are talking about it, but then when you get it, it's not as cool as you thought it would be. Media hype can be good sometimes because it can make us aware of important things happening in the world or help us learn new things. But, it can also be bad because it can create false expectations or make us think something is more important than it really is.

So, it's important to stay curious, but also be careful about what we believe and not to get too caught up in all the hype.
