Metascience (research)

Metascience is research about research. It looks at how scientists do research and what makes research successful. It tries to figure out how to make research processes smoother and more reliable. So, metascience tries to make sure that scientists are getting the best results they can when they do experiments or studies. It's like when you do a really hard homework assignment and your teacher asks you to redo it and make sure you do it the best you can—metascience is like that, but for scientists doing research.
