Military funeral

When someone in the military dies, they have a special funeral to say goodbye to them and honor their service. It's called a military funeral.

The funeral usually takes place at a cemetery or other place where people are buried (like a memorial park). The person who died is put in a special box called a casket, which is covered with the American flag.

At the funeral, there are people who wear military uniforms and play special music. They are called the honor guard. They do special things like fold the American flag into a triangle and give it to the family of the person who died.

There might also be a gun salute, which is when people shoot guns into the air to show respect. You might hear a bugle play a special song called "Taps", which is sad and slow.

Many people come to the funeral to show their love for the person who died and their gratitude for their service to our country.
