Moment (mathematics)

Moment (mathematics) is a way to measure how much something is pointing or pulling in a certain direction. It's like a number that tells you how much something is turning or stretching in one direction. To calculate the moment you take the amount of something (like how much force, weight, or mass) and then multiply that by how far it is from the center or pivot point. The bigger something is or the farther away it is from the pivot point, the bigger the moment will be.
