ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Multiword expression

Multiword expressions are words or phrases that have a special meaning together. These can be things like idioms, sayings, and proverbs. For example, an idiom like "raining cats and dogs" means it is raining very hard, even though cats and dogs don't really fall from the sky! Similarly, a saying like "look before you leap" means to think carefully before taking action.
