Phraseme

Phraseme is a fancy word for a group of words that go together but don't necessarily make sense when you say them separately. For example, "raining cats and dogs" can mean that it is raining heavily. It's not that cats and dogs are actually falling out of the sky, it just means that it's raining a lot!
