ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Phrase

A phrase is a group of words that are put together to make sense. Just like building blocks, words can be put together to form phrases, which can then be used to make sentences. For example, the phrase "the big red ball" is made up of three words that describe a ball, and the phrase "going to the park" tells you what someone is doing. Phrases don't always need to have a verb or a subject - they can just be a group of words that make sense together. You use phrases every day when you talk or write, whether you realize it or not!
