Nanocrystalline silicon

Nanocrystalline silicon is a type of very small, tiny pieces of silicon. It's made up of little crystals that are only a few nanometers (billionths of a meter) across. Even though they are so small, the small crystals can be used to make solar panels that absorb light and turn it into electricity. This electricity can then be used to power things like our homes, businesses, and cars. In other words, nanocrystalline silicon helps us make renewable energy!
