Quantum dot

A quantum dot is a tiny speck of material, so small you can't even see it! It can be made out of different materials like semiconductors, metals, and even carbon. Inside a quantum dot are tiny particles called electrons. Electrons can be made to do all kinds of things by controlling their energy levels. Scientists use quantum dots to help store and transfer information in special ways. This could help with things like improving cell phone and computer screens, creating better cameras, and more.
