ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

National Coming Out Day

National Coming Out Day is a special day that happens every year on October 11th. It is a day when people who are LGBTQ+ get to celebrate and be proud of who they are.

Sometimes people are scared to tell others that they are LGBTQ+. This can be because they are worried that they won't be accepted or loved anymore. But on National Coming Out Day, people are encouraged to be brave and share their true selves with others.

On this day, people who are LGBTQ+ may share their feelings with their family, friends or the world by posting on social media, wearing certain clothes or even participating in special events.

It's a day when people come together to celebrate diversity and support each other, no matter who they love or who they are.
