The New Left was a group of people in the 1960s and 1970s who wanted change in how things were done in the world. The New Left had new ideas about how to do things like fighting for civil rights for African Americans and women, ending the Vietnam War, protecting the environment, and helping the poor. They believed people should work together to make the world a better place and to make sure everyone was treated fairly. They wanted to change the political and social systems of the time which they thought were unfair. So they protested, talked to leaders, developed new organizations, and wrote articles and books to spread their ideas. They made a big impact and changed the course of the country.
