Non-lethal weapon

Non-lethal weapons are special kinds of weapons that do not cause permanent damage or death, like guns do. Instead, they cause pain or confusion, which can help people in positions of authority (like police officers) control people and situations without having to cause long-term harm or death. They might work by shooting painful beams of light or heat, by making loud noises, or by shooting a beanbag-like material that causes pain when it hits you.
