ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Non-renewable resource

Non-renewable resources are things we use, like energy and materials, that we can't make more of. Think of them like presents – once they're gone, they're gone. Examples of non-renewable resources are oil, coal and natural gas. We take them out of the ground and use them to make energy and all sorts of things. But since we can't make more, we have to use what we have and use it carefully.
