Nonfarm payrolls

Nonfarm payrolls are a measure of how many jobs are available in the United States. Every month, the US government looks at how many people have jobs in lots of different fields (like restaurants, stores, and hospitals). They add up all the jobs and that's called the nonfarm payrolls number. This number helps us understand how many jobs are available and how the US economy is doing.
