ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Nonpartisanism

Okay kiddo, have you ever played a game where there are two teams and you have to pick which team you want to be on? That's a bit like politics. There are two main groups, the Republicans and the Democrats, and people have to choose which one they like better.

But sometimes, people don't want to choose a team. They just want to stay neutral and not take sides. That's what nonpartisanism means - not having a strong feeling or being neutral towards a particular political party or group.

It's like when you're at the playground and two kids are arguing. You don't take anyone's side, you just try to help them work things out and be friends again. You're not on anyone's team, you're just trying to be fair and help everyone get along.

Being nonpartisan isn't about picking a side or trying to win. It's about being fair and listening to everyone, no matter what team they're on. It means focusing on what's best for everyone and not just one particular group.

Does that make sense, little one?
