Normalcy bias

Normalcy bias is when people think that because something has never happened before, it will never happen. For example, if something bad has never happened in a particular place before, people might think that it will never happen. But this isn't always true, because sometimes bad things do happen. So it's important to not assume that just because something has never happened before, it won't happen in the future.
