Optimism bias

Optimism bias is a tendency people have to be overly optimistic about their future. This means that people expect things to work out for them, even when the situation is uncertain. For example, someone might believe that they will get a job even when their resume is not very strong or they have no related experience. This means they may not take the extra steps needed to actually get the job.
