Nuremberg Principles

The Nuremberg Principles are important rules for judges and prosecutors to follow, usually in cases involving war crimes or other serious violations of human rights. They say that people should not be punished for things they didn't do, and that people should not be punished for doing something that was not considered a crime when it happened. They also say that if someone did break the law, they should still be given a fair trial, and that no one should be above the law (including people in positions of power). All in all, the Nuremberg Principles make sure that everyone is treated fairly, no matter who they are.
