Occupational licensing

Occupational licensing is when the government lets certain people do certain jobs. It's sort of like a permission slip. To get the permission slip, you usually have to meet certain requirements like taking classes, doing exams or proving that you have certain skills. That way, everyone who does the job is qualified and can do it to a high standard.
