ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Offshore outsourcing

Offshore outsourcing is when a company pays someone else to do some of their work. Instead of hiring someone to work at their local office, they hire someone from another country to do the work. This means they can get the work done faster and cheaper, but they don't get to meet with the person they are hiring in person. It's like when your mom hires someone to clean the house, but instead of someone who lives next door, she hires someone who lives in another state!
