P53 upregulated modulator of apoptosis

p53 upregulated modulator of apoptosis (or PUMA) is a special protein that helps your body to get rid of cells that are bad. The way it works is that it builds up in cells that are damaged or unhealthy, and then it tells those cells that it's time for them to die. In this way, it helps the body to stay healthy by getting rid of cells that might cause problems.
