Paddle

A paddle is a long stick with a flat part called a blade on one or both ends. People use it to move a boat through water or to hit a ball in games like ping pong or pickleball.

When a person wants to move a boat through the water, they dip the blade of the paddle into the water and pull it towards themselves. The water pushes against the blade, causing the boat to move in the opposite direction. People alternate using the paddle on either side of the boat so they can keep going forward.

When playing games like ping pong or pickleball, people use the paddle to hit a small ball back and forth over a net. They hold the paddle in their hand and try to hit the ball in a way that makes it hard for their opponent to hit it back.

Overall, a paddle is a useful tool for moving through water or playing games with a ball, and it works by using the force of water or hitting the ball to accomplish different tasks.
