Parkinson's Law is a rule that tells us that work expands to fill the time allowed for it. This means that if you give yourself more time to do something, it will take longer for you to finish. Think about it like this: if you give yourself three hours to do your homework and your friend gives themselves two hours, your friend will probably finish before you do.
