Participatory budgeting is a way for people in a community or a city to get together and decide how their tax money or public funds should be spent. People in the community get together and decide what types of projects they want the government to invest in. For example, the people might decide to use their money to build a new playground, buy new trucks for the fire department, or improve the public transportation system. Everyone in the group gets to share their ideas and vote on which projects should get funded. The projects with the most votes will get the most money.
