ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Participatory politics

Participatory politics is when people take part in deciding how their government works. It means that instead of only elected politicians making decisions, ordinary people take part in the process too. This could be through voting in elections, writing to their local representative, joining protest marches and rallies, or taking part in discussions online. Participatory politics means that everyone can have a say in the decisions of their government, making it more fair.
