ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Deliberative democracy

Deliberative democracy is a way of making decisions where people in a group talk together to decide what the best option is for everyone. People come together and talk about how different options will affect everyone and try to come up with a decision that everyone can live with. People don't just vote for one option and hope for the best - with deliberative democracy, everybody gets to put in their ideas and thoughts and tell why they think something should happen.
