ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Percolator

A percolator is a special pot that makes coffee. It has two parts: a lower part where water goes and a top part where the coffee is made. First, you put water in the lower part of the pot and then you put coffee in the top part. When the pot is heated, the water starts to boil and the steam rises up into the top part. As this happens, the steam carries the coffee with it and filters it through a special strainer. Then the coffee drips back down into the lower part of the pot. This process happens over and over again until the coffee is just right! It's like a little coffee factory in your kitchen.
