Qing official headwear

Okay kiddo, do you know what headwear is? It's something you wear on your head like a hat or a crown. In China, a long time ago, there were a group of people called the Qing officials who had a special kind of headwear that was different from what normal people wore.

Their headwear was called "Guan" or "Guanmao" and it was a hat made of fancy materials like silk, rabbit fur or feathers. The Qing officials wore it as a symbol of their high status and position in the government. The higher the rank, the fancier the hat!

The shape of the Guan hat is very unique too, it's like a round cap with a flat top and two long strings that hang down on each side. The strings can be tied up in a bow, or left hanging loose.

The color of the Guan hat also tells you about the ranking of the official wearing it. For example, the emperor would wear a yellow hat, while a regular official might wear a blue or black hat.

The Qing dynasty was a long time ago, so you won't see people wearing the Guan hat anymore. But, sometimes you might see performers wearing it in traditional Chinese plays or movies to show what the officials looked like back then.

So, there you have it, kiddo, a fun little history lesson on Qing official headwear!
