Quantum Hall effect

The quantum Hall effect is like a special kind of party playing one type of music. Everybody in the party wears special clothes made out of electrons that make them extra slippery. When two people try to dance really close together they get pushed apart. This pushing away happens when two electrons try to be in the same place at the same time. The pushing away creates a special kind of energy that has lots of weird pieces. This energy can be used to do cool things like help us understand electricity better.
