Quilting

Okay kiddo, so quilting is like putting a puzzle together but with pieces of fabric instead of actual puzzle pieces. People use fabric to make a really soft and cozy blanket called a quilt.

First, they pick out a bunch of fabrics that they like and cut them into little pieces called squares or triangles. Then, they take those pieces and sew them together in a pattern to make a bigger piece of fabric.

After that, they take some soft and fluffy stuff called batting and put that in the middle of the fabric sandwich (like a sandwich you eat, but with fabric instead of bread). They make sure everything is nice and flat and then sew around the edges to keep it all together.

Finally, they add some more fabric to the back to keep the batting inside and make it extra cozy. Now, they have a new quilt that they can snuggle under and keep warm with!
