ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Radiation

Radiation is energy that travels from one place to another in the form of waves or particles. It is a natural part of our environment and we are exposed to it every day. Radiation is all around us and comes from things like the sun, stars, and even rocks. The sun gives us radiation in the form of heat and light, while rocks and other things on the ground give us radiation like X-rays, gamma rays, and ultraviolet light. Radiation can also be created by machines like X-ray machines, microwaves, and cell phones. All of these forms of radiation can be helpful or harmful, depending on how much we are exposed to and how it is used.
