ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Regress argument

Regress argument is a type of logical argument. It means that when something is explained by saying it has been around for a long time and is therefore true, this isn't a good explanation.

Think of it like this: two kids are arguing about something. One kid says it's true because it's been around for a long time. The other kid disagrees. The second kid is using the regress argument because they are not agreeing that something is true just because it has been around for a long time.
