ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Regulatory sign

A regulatory sign is a special type of sign that tells you what you can and cannot do while driving. Think of it like a bossy grown-up who tells you the rules so that you can be safe while driving. These signs are usually colored red, white, and black to make you notice them easily.

Some examples of regulatory signs include stop signs, no parking signs, speed limit signs, and yield signs. Each sign has a special message that you need to follow. For example, a stop sign tells you to come to a complete stop before moving on, while a speed limit sign tells you how fast you can go.

It is important to follow regulatory signs in order to keep you and other people on the road safe. If you don't follow them, you may get in trouble with the law, cause an accident, or hurt someone. So always pay attention to these signs!
