Salawat

Salawat are words of blessings that Muslims use to express their love and gratefulness to Prophet Muhammad. Muslims will say the salawat when mentioning Prophet Muhammad's name, or when they are feeling grateful, or they may even write salawat as kind messages. The words of the salawat are: "Allahumma salli 'ala Muhammad, wa'ala Ali Muhammad, kama sallaita 'ala ibraheem, wa'ala Ali ibraheem, innaka hameedun majeed". This roughly translates to: "Oh Allah, send peace and blessings upon Muhammad and the family of Muhammad, like you sent peace and blessings upon Abraham and the family of Abraham, for You are the Praiseworthy, the Most Glorious".
