The Salt March was a protest that happened in India in 1930. People in India wanted more freedom, and they wanted the British rulers to end some of the laws they had made. The Salt March was led by Mahatma Gandhi, and it was the way they showed they wanted change. A group of people marched from one town to another carrying signs and shouting together. When they reached the end of the march, they collected salt from the ocean, which was against the law because the British rulers had made a law that said Indians had to buy salt from them and couldn't get it for free from the ocean. By collecting the salt, the protesters were showing the British rulers that they wouldn't follow their laws anymore.
