Satellite airfield

Okay kiddo, so sometimes planes need to land and take off from places that are not big airports. These are called satellite airfields.

They are like smaller versions of airports that are used when the bigger airports are too far away or it's more convenient to use a closer one.

They usually have a shorter runway and fewer facilities than big airports, but still have everything the planes need, like fuel and space to park.

It's kind of like having a mini airport in your backyard - it's not as big as the airport you usually go to, but it's still a place where airplanes can land and take off safely.
