ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Aerodrome

An aerodrome is like a special area that's meant for planes to take off and land on, just like a playground is a special area meant for kids to play on.

It's usually a big flat piece of land that has been specially prepared so that planes can safely land and take off. There are special rules and safety measures in place to make sure that the planes can safely use the aerodrome.

Air traffic controllers usually work from a tower in the aerodrome to help guide the planes in and out, and keep them from getting too close to each other.

Think of it as a place where airplanes go to play and work before they fly up in the sky!
