Savanna

A savanna is like a big, open grassy field with scattered trees. When you look out into a savanna, you can see very far because there aren't many things blocking your view. Sometimes it's really hot there and sometimes it's really rainy.

Lots of big animals live in the savanna, like lions, zebras, giraffes, and elephants. They eat the tall grass and leaves from the trees. It's hard for the animals to hide because there's not a lot of space to hide in, so they have to be very alert to avoid getting caught by predators.

People also live in the savanna and sometimes farm there. They grow things like corn and wheat, and they have to be careful not to disturb the animals' habitats.
